Gradle bootstrap issue

Stephan Herrmann
Hi,

I just gave gradle a try as a dumb user, and I was quite successful in
not being successful:
 + download and unzip gradle-0.4-src.zip
 + read http://www.gradle.org/build.html
+ enter top directory of unziped sources
 + type "./gradlew clean dists"
Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: org/gradle/wrapper/WrapperMain

The only thing that I checked then was: CLASSPATH is set to include
        ./wrapper/gradle-wrapper.jar
but I neither have a directory nor a jar by that name.

If I was doing something silly perhaps the instructions should be
improved, otherwise there's probably a bug either in gradle or the
the tool that has produced the zip-file ;-)

best,
Stephan

Hi,

This is a bug with the source distribution, it appears to be missing
some of the jars used by the wrapper.

As a work around, you can use Gradle from the binary distribution to
build the source distribution if you like.
