Simple copy functions

pg17
Hi,

I am new to gradle and I am trying to a very simple task.
I need to copy files from one absolute location to another.

task copyTask(type:Copy){

File configFile = file('c://employee.xml')
 from  configFile
 into  file('d://learn')

}

And i get the error - org.gradle.api.UncheckedIOException: java.io.IOException: The process cannot access the file because another process has locked a portion of the file.

Can someone help me out here?

Well it exists and people write to it and read it. If it really isn't in
use then why not delete it?

A place where people who use email and not forums never go ;-)

I must confess I'm also happy this mailing-list exists :-)
Otherwise, I'd bother the Gradle developers directly instead, and wouldn't even bother with the forum!

Because some people made a lot of noise when we proposed this ;)

According to registration/subscription numbers, such people are in the clear minority.

Now that is pure sophistry!

In a situation where everyone is told "use the forum or get no
response", it is hardly surprising the forum has the majority of users.
Those who like or can just about tolerate forums use them, the rest of
us fade away from the activity and are no longer counted. But I am still
an active advocate for Gradle despite that.

It remains a major faux pas of the forum provider that they are
technically unable to support a proper email interface. If they are the
bleeding edge then the NNTP interfaces of 20 years ago (still in use
today cf. the D community) remain the superior mechanism: forum and
email all in the same system. But then it is not shiny and new and
cloudy, so I guess it is beneath the horizon for the cool hipsters.

I would also love to have a proper email interface as part of the forum and I think all of us would like to have this. Let's see what we can up with in the future.

Clearly they cannot be a#sed to do anything about it. Of course it now
means we know that getting satisfaction takes considerably longer than
four years.

I suspect this will involve a move to a new supplier, given how much the
current supplier cares about this issue. Sad really, they were promising
in the beginning.
